Network Rail to carry out upgrade work for a level crossing in Conningham from the 5th to the 13th of March.
The work being carried out at Winthorpe level crossing, will bring improvements in reliability and will mean that it remains fit for use into the future.
The work will start from 20:00 on Saturday the 5th and finish at 09:30 on Sunday the 13th of March 2022.
The project will see the replacement of the barriers and some equipment for new and more up-to-date apparatus.
In order for the work to be carried out safely, part of Holme Lane at the crossing will closed throughout the project. A clear signposted diversion route will be put in place for road users with the work having no effects on train services. However, the crossing will be closed to pedestrians whilst the work is ongoing.
The project will provide a more resilient railway moving into the future and will mean the crossing can continue to operate both safely and reliably whilst bringing a reduction in the amount of maintenance and disruption needed in the future.

“As well as improving safety for people using the crossing, the improvements will also reduce disruption for people in the community.

The Newark flat junction could do with a massive upgrade including building a new railway bridge for the Nottingham-Lincoln line to go over or under the ECML north of Newark Northgate.
