London North Eastern Railway (LNER) will be running a full timetable as no planned engineering works will be taking place over the entirety of its 956-mile network which connects majors cities and town between , Northern England, , the East Midlands and London King's Cross.

David Horne, Managing Director at LNER, said: “We're delighted to be welcoming more and more people back to rail and our services during the Easter period and school holidays are proving really popular. We're urging people to book early to avoid disappointment and we're look forwarding to welcoming customers onboard to enjoy our legendary customer experience.”

Onboard LNER trains, passengers can enjoy a wide selection of locally sourced food and drink served direct to their seat using the new complimentary menu in First Class and the innovative Let's Eat At Your Seat service for Standard.

Customers booking via the LNER website or app can have the benefit of LNER's loyalty rewards scheme – LNER Perks. The scheme has seen over 350,000 people sign up and offers 2% credit back on LNER journeys and £5 credit just for signing up. Further benefits of the scheme include the recently added exclusive offers for members with even more incentives set to come.

To make journeys as comfortable as possible LNER recommends making seat reservations. The rail operator is also continuing with its enhanced cleaning for all LNER managed stations and onboard its trains in a bid to provide customers with the confidence to travel by train.

  • Will LNER expand their services to other destinations such as Scarborough, Harrogate, Grimsby Town, Cleethorpes, Skegness, Whitby and Hartlepool.

    • Think Whitby expansion would involve re-laying railway from Rillington (between Malton & Seamer) to Pickering, as lengthy route (from the south) involving reversals at Battersby, would’nt attract LNER.
