It is the scenic line between Dresden and Chemnitz in Germany, known as the Tharandter Rampe.

The route has been recreated for Train Sim World 2 to allow a variety of services to be simulated using different locomotives and units.

Tharandter Rampe: Dresden – Chemnitz is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and on PC through Epic Games Store, and Steam.

The new release includes a number of firsts for TSW fans.

A DB BR 612 DMU is the first German diesel multiple unit with a tilting feature and integrated safety system that allows players to drive the unit differently to the other locos that feature on the route, and allows the banked curves to be taken much faster than its non-tilting counterparts.

The simulation features both scenarios and timetable services of the faster services between Dresden and Chemnitz bound for Hof, Nürnberg, and Dresden, which link the eastern and southernmost German regions of Saxony and Bavaria.

Representing the region's S-Bahn services on the eastern half of the route and other stopping services across the full length of the route is the DB BR 143 and Dopplestock coaches.

These recreate the type of local services to be seen in real life, and with 74 timetabled services, either the entire route or short sections of it can be experienced from the cabs of either the DB BR 143 or Dopplestock.

Railpool BR 185.6 in Railpool Silver Livery

As it cannot reach the higher speeds of the DB BR 612 DMU, and stops more often, this veteran push-pull combination of electric loco and coaches offers an alternative driving experience and is the perfect way for players to enjoy the undulating terrain and rural stations of the Tharandter Rampe.

Another addition is the Railpool BR 185.6, which replicates Railpool's exact specifications. The simulation features the various yards and industrial developments that utilise the route's freight-carrying capabilities.

There are 20 different timetabled services bound for varied destinations across eastern Germany that provide a variety of mixed freight to enjoy.

Bombardier built the BR 185, which is a member of the larger TRAXX family of locos that is synonymous with modern German freight in a variety of locations across the country.

The Tharandter Rampe: Dresden – Chemnitz route introduces the .6 variant of the loco which carries the Railpool silver livery, and with a consist comprising Roos-T, Habbins, and Laeers freight wagons, or mixed freight.

DB BR 363 “V 60“ Diesel Shunter in DB Blue Livery

Completing the line up of locos and units is the DB BR 363 “V 60“ shunter, which is the heavy shunter variant of the same family of locos. Over 900 of this class were built, with the oldest completing 65 years of active service in April.
