Train World

Ukraine-based developer Turn Point Games have announced that their railway-building simulator ‘Train World' that allows budding game players to become a railroad tycoon, is in the Steam sale.

‘Train World' allows players to design, manage, and operate their own railway network.

Players can opt for any time over the past two centuries, from the Steam Age to modern-day high-technology automation.

With dozens of locomotive and car options, players can choose to build passenger or freight trains, and construct large rail networks having different types of tracks, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure, Train World is a paradise for tycoons and train-lovers alike.

Simulation can be set throughout the ages of railways, and trains can be updated against the passage of time from basic steam locomotives to complex consists hauled by multiple locomotives.

Scenarios can be set for transporting passengers, moving thousands of tonnes of freight, or managing an intensive commuter network.

Players have the option to build a railway network that spans the ages, from planning the network, to building new stations, and managing trains on different routes. They can research the use of new technologies and train types, as their networks grow, players can unlock new regions by expanding their network to include new locations, extra passengers, and different cargo types.

Features available in Train World include:

  • Dozens of locomotives, carriages and wagons that allow players to construct their own trains.
  • Multiple types of bridges, tunnels, and tracks.
  • More than 30 different types of cargo.
  • A technology Tree that provides the ability to recreate trains from three eras, from the steam age through to modern train technology.
  • High-level economic views and graphs provide a dynamic view of the train's economy for transporting over 150 different types of freight.
  • An objectives system that makes provision for players looking for an extra challenge.
  • A variety of maps range from a small 20 x 20 miles network to large-scale covering 120 x 120 miles, each having different biomes and relief types to enhance the scenery. The maps are divided into regions that can be opened during the game, with each region having its own specific type of industry.

Train World was developed by the solo developer of Turn Point Games, Dymtro Aleksiuk, in his Ukrainian-based development studio and was originally released in July 2023. Players can follow the game on YouTube, Twitter, and the Train World Website.

Steam is including Train World in its Spring Sale starting today, Friday, 15 March, at a 20% discount.
