34067 Tangmere: Northern Belle confirms debut for steam locomotive

Luxury train operator, Northern Belle, has announced when 34067 Tangmere will haul its train for the first time

Currently, the locomotive is undergoing its final stages of overhaul at WCRC in Carnforth, but Northern Belle has today told RailAdvent that the Battle of Britain locomotive will haul The Northern Belle on Thursday 24th February 2022.

The engine, weighing in at around 86 ton, will haul the rake of Pullman Mk2 carriages on the Steam Special from Leeds to Carlisle.

The train departs Leeds diesel hauled at 08:15 before calling at Huddersfield (08:40) and Manchester at 09:20. See here for more information

34067 Tangmere will take over the tour at Carnforth in Lancashire.

Northern Belle owner David Pitts said: “We’re delighted to have such a grand loco pulling out first trip of 2022.”
