The Railway Benefit Fund has announced plans to run a special railtour from Crewe to Windsor in 2022.

To mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the luxury rail tour, dubbed The Royal Charter, will travel from Crewe to Windsor on the Jubilee Bank Holiday, Friday 3rd June 2022.

Saphos Trains’ luxury carriages will be hauled by 70000 Britannia, which was built at Crewe Works in 1951.

The tour will pick up passengers at Crewe, Stafford and Nuneaton.

On arrival at Windsor, there will be time to explore Windsor before returning back to Crewe.

More details, including tickets and fares for both dining and non-dining options, will be released in 2022.

To register for early bird tickets, please visit The Railway Benefit Fund website.

And what’s better, the train will be raising money for The Railway Benefit Fund who support railway families in need.

  • I left school at 15 and went to work at the marshalling yards at Stratford as an engine cleaner, one of my most vivid memories was cleaning the Brittania for her journey to take the royal family from Liverpool street to Kings Lynn. Such a magnificent machine.

  • As a young train spotter in uk I went to the crew works with our local troupe. We visited the shop and watched #70000 being built. I will never forget that day in 1949 or 50 .
