The tender, once destined for use on LNER B17 61662 Manchester United, has been moved to CTL Seal to be used on B17 No. 61673 Spirit of Sandringham.

Towards the end of last year, it was confirmed that the project to build 61662 Manchester United had reached the end of the line, with work unable to progress due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was also confirmed in November 2020 that parts from the locomotive would be donated to to be used on 61673 Spirit of Sandringham.

Along with the LNER tender, a set of buffers were also donated to the B17 Trust.

Whilst the Trust already owns an LNER tender, it is hoped that the best parts from both can come together to make one complete LNER tender to use with 61673 Spirit of Sandringham.
