6880 Betton Grange Society Ltd has announced that the member launch for the locomotive has been postponed.

The decision to postpone the launch comes after a review of what work was required before next Saturday, which showed that there was not enough time to finish and allow for an initial testing.

A revised date will be announced once the locomotive has been tested at Tyseley Locomotive Works.

A spokesperson for 6880 Betton Grange Society Limited said “Following a detailed review of the works required to complete 6880 Betton Grange for the proposed members launch we have made the very difficult decision to postpone this event.

A full study this week of all tasks requiring completion before next Saturday, showed that there wasn’t enough time to guarantee completion and allow time for initial testing.

We appreciate this this will come as a great disappointment to you all and cause inconvenience and upset with the personal arrangements made to attend the event.

We will announce the revised date once the locomotive has been successfully tested at Tyseley Locomotive Works.

We appreciate your support and patience and sincerely apologise for the delay in finishing and inconvenience caused.”
