⚠️UPDATED – Steam locomotive Flying Scotsman to visit Carlisle this Saturday

⚠️⚠️UPDATE: Flying Scotsman will now travel via the West Coast Main Line in both directions. It will no longer head to Skipton, Hellifield, Settle ⚠️⚠️More details here!

Steam locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Settle and Carlisle on Saturday 27th November 2021.

The railtour departs Manchester Victoria behind a diesel locomotive at 06:40 and will pass through Salford Crescent (06:42), Bolton (07:02), Preston (07:44), Lancaster (08:15), Carnforth North Junction (08:24 – Flying Scotsman added to the rear of the train), Carnforth (09:02), Settle Junction (09:50), and Hellifield at 10:00.

With Flying Scotsman now at the helm of the train, the tour will depart at 10:42 and will pass through Horton-in-Ribblesdale (11:04), Garsdale (11:28), Appleby (11:52), Langwathby (12:08) and Carlisle at 13:19.

After a short time in Carlisle, the tour will depart at 16:14 and will see Flying Scotsman pass through Penrith North Lakes (16:38), Tebay (16:59), Oxenholme Lake District (17:12) and Carnforth South Junction at 17:32 where Flying Scotsman is replaced by a diesel locomotive.

The diesel locomotive will take the train back to Manchester Victoria via Lancaster (18:34), Preston (18:56), Chorley (19:17), Bolton (19:30) and Manchester Victoria at 19:54.
