Steam locomotive 6233 Duchess of Sutherland is on the mainline this Saturday and will visit Chesterfield with a tour to York.
The locomotive is on The York Yuletide Express this Saturday, 27th November 2021.
Departing Ealing Broadway at 06:12, the steam train will pass through Acton Main Line (06:18), Hendon (07:08), St Albans (07:28), Luton (07:45), Flitwick (08:01), Bedford (08:13), Kettering (08:50), Leicester (09:28), Loughborough (10:39), Langley Mill (11:07), Alfreton (11:15), Chesterfield (11:26) and Barrow Hill North Junction (11:36), where 6233 leaves the train.
A diesel locomotive will take over the train to York, passing through Swinton (12:43), Moorthorpe (12:59), Church Fenton (13:23) and York at 13:37.
The diesel locomotive will depart York at 15:14 and will pass through Church Fenton (15:24), Swinton (15:57) an Barrow Hill Staveley FLHH at 16:28.
Here, 6233 is added back on the train and will take the tour back to Ealing Broadway via Chesterfield (16:55), Langley Mill (17:20), East Midlands Parkway (17:43), Loughborough (17:54), Leicester (18:16), Kettering (18:52), Bedford (19:57), Harlington (20:27), Luton (20:37), St Albans (20:55), Acton Main Line (21:37) and Ealing Broadway at 21:45.
