The has confirmed that an issue with LNER A1 No. 60163 Tornado is under investigation.

Tornado operated a tour between Bristol Temple Meads and Chester on Saturday 13th November, after which, engineers found a potential intermittent valve issue.

The issue is now under investigation to make sure Tornado can operate reliably on heritage railways and on mainline tours.

Unfortunately, this does mean that Tornado will not be able to haul the London to York trip this coming Thursday, 18th November. Steam Dreams has confirmed to RailAdvent that the tour on the 18th November will now be diesel hauled. New timings for the trip can be found here.

A spokesperson for the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust said “After operating a trip to and from Chester on Saturday 13th November, our team identified a potential intermittent valve issue. Unfortunately, this means that Tornado will not be able to haul it's next booked tour on Thursday 18th November. We apologise to those who were hoping to ride behind Tornado.”
