New increased timetable for Hull Trains

From December this year, Trains, part of FirstGroup PLC, will be running more trains than ever before.

The number of commuters has steadily increased over the last few months as their confidence in travel continues.

has renewed confidence in returning passengers and will be increasing the number of trains back to pre-pandemic numbers. From 12th December there will be 94 services a week direct from Hull to (previously the highest was 92).

There will be an extra train service on Sundays to increase it match Saturdays services of six a day. There will be an extra seventh service that will be part of the normal weekday timetable.

On Fridays and Saturdays, the train lengths will increase to ten cars to allow extra seats for Christmas shopping and visits to family & friends but also in readiness for growing demand in 2022.

The extra trains are welcomed by all involved with Hull Trains, as during their 21-year history, the pandemic has been the most challenging times. There were three incidents where trains had to be suspended by Hull Trains, with no government support as an open-access operator.

  • Does Hull Trains sometimes run a 10-Car service (2 5-Car Class 802) from London Kings Cross to Hull. Because I’ve seen some stuff on social media that Hull Trains have allowed them to operate with 10-Car formation.
