This Saturday, 2nd October 2021, LNER A1 No. 60163 Tornado will be hauling part of a tour to Carlisle from Newcastle.
Departing Newcastle at 07:06 behind diesel locomotives, the tour will pass through Durham (07:22), Darlington (07:46), York (08:34), Shipley (09:52), Keighley (10:10) and Carnforth at 11:15, where Tornado is added to the train.
Tornado will then continue up the West Coast Main Line, passing through Oxenholme Lake District (11:56), Tebay (12:22) and Penrith North Lakes (12:47) before arriving into Carlisle at 13:24.
After servicing and time for passengers to explore Carlisle, Tornado will depart at 15:15 and will pass through Appleby (15:58), Ribblehead (16:48) Hellifield (17:12 – where Tornado is taken off the train), Gargrave (17:50), Skipton (18:00), Castleford (19:09), York (19:37), Thirsk (20:08), Darlington (20:44), Durham (21:21) and Newcastle at 21:45.
