Steam locomotive 34046 Braunton to depart London Paddington this Wednesday

Steam locomotive No.34046 Braunton will be back in steam on the mainline as it heads on a tour to the Severn Valley Railway.

The loco will be passing through Didcot Parkway and Oxford on Wednesday 8th September 2021.

Departing London Paddington at 06:02 and will then pass through Southall (06:15), Slough (06:26), Maidenhead (06:37), Twyford (06:44), Reading (06:52), Goring and Streatley (07:12), Didcot Parkway (07:25), Oxford (08:07), Banbury (08:36), Leamington Spa (09:03), Dorridge (09:22), Tyseley (10:03), Birmingham Moor Street (10:13), Smethwick Galton Bridge (10:23),  Rowley Regis (10:29), Stourbridge Junction (10:38), Blakedown (10:44), Kidderminster (10:50), and Kidderminster SVR at 10:57.

Here, 34046 will head up to Bewdley, where it will be replaced by 34027 Taw Valley (reported), which will take the tour up to Bridgnorth.

After servicing and turning as well as heading to Bridgnorth, 34046 will depart Bridgnorth for the return journey (timings for SVR section unknown). Departing Kidderminster SVR at 17:29 and will pass through Blakedown (17:38), Stourbridge Junction (17:43), Rowley Regis (17:53), Smethwick Galton Bridge (17:59), Birmingham Snow Hill (18:14), Tyseley (18:22), Dorridge (18:30), Leamington Spa (18:46), Banbury (19:17), Oxford (20:26), Didcot Parkway (21:07), Reading (21:37), Maidenhead (21:57), Slough (22:10), Southall (22:35) and London Paddington at 22:52.
