British India Line steam locomotive to visit Chester this Saturday

Steam locomotive 35018 British India Line will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Blackburn and Chester on Saturday 25th September 2021.

The locomotive is hauling The Lunes Rivers Trust, which originates in Carnforth.

Note: We believe that 35018 British India Line is hauling this tour, but this is subject to change.

Departing Carnforth at 07:41, the locomotive will pass through Wennington (08:00), Bentham (08:17), Clapham (08:31), Giggleswick (08:40), Hellifield (08:54), Clitheroe (10:07), Whalley (10:12), Blackburn (10:31), Cherry Tree (10:35), Wigan North Western (11:36), Warrington Bank Quay (11:50), Runcorn East (12:06), Helsby (12:19) and Chester at 12:34.

The return journey will depart Chester at 15:35, and will then pass through Helsby (15:48), Runcorn East (15:58), Warrington Bank Quay (16:09), Wigan North Western (16:33), Cherry Tree (17:23), Blackburn (17:57), Clitheroe (18:21), Hellifield (18:51), Bentham (19:49), Wennington (19:59), and Carnforth at 20:19.
