has told RailAdvent that they are replacing GWR Castle No. 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe for 2021 with LMS Duchess No 6233 Duchess of Sutherland.

Additionally, two tours have been added in the Autumn and Winter. The additions will be a trip to Chester on Saturday 27th November and an additional trip to York Christmas Market on the 15th of December. Both tours will be hauled by 6233 Duchess of Sutherland, departing from Vintage Trains depot.

The Chester tour will steam up the West Coast Main Line after stops at Tamworth, Burton, Leicester, Nuneaton before heading via Crewe to Chester.

After nearly selling out their other trip to York Christmas Market, the second has had to be added, with Vintage Trains saying York has one of the best Christmas Markets in England.

Despite difficulties surrounding the pandemic, Vintage Trains says it has received positive feedback to their Autumn and Winter tours, which starts on September 25th with the Stevenson Locomotive Special.

7029 Clun Castle and 6233 Duchess of Sutherland will be the locomotives to haul all Vintage Trains steam tours in 2021.
