has launched a new service where passengers can have food and drink delivered to their seats.

The new feature follows on from a successful trial in 2020.

First Class passengers have enjoyed at-seat service, but this new feature will allow standard class passengers to order refreshments and have them delivered to their seat.

At seat ordering is being introduced on a number of services on the Avanti West Coast network and will see passengers login in to the onboard WiFi using their device before visiting the dedicated page.

Payment can be made via debit or credit card as well as PayPal, the order is then delivered to their seat by an onboard Customer Service Assistant.

Accessibility Groups have welcomed the new feature, saying its helpful for disabled passengers who find it difficult to leave their seat.

Don't worry, if you prefer to buy food and drink in person, the onboard Pendolino shop will still be available.

“The results of our trial proved At-Seat Order was a great addition to services and a perfect solution for customers who did not want to leave their seat,” said Sarah Copley, Executive Director, Commercial at Avanti West Coast.

“It's a new, easy way for those travelling to enjoy great food and drink with us and to pay digitally, providing extra reassurance during a journey so customers can travel with confidence.”
