The Woodland Group has announced a brand new rail freight service operating out of iPort Rail in Doncaster.
Following the constructions of 195,000 sq ft fulfilment and distribution centre at iPort in March 2021, Woodland Group is now operating container freight train services between Doncaster and the ports at Felixstowe and Southampton.
Already planned are services to London Gateway and Immingham, with around 140 container movements per month by May.
iPort itself is a large rail freight distribution site opening three years ago near Doncaster, which see over 2000 containers shipped a week over 56 trains.
The Woodland Group is a large global distribution firm, specialising in freight haulage.
Their new centre at iPort will provide a massive economic boost to the local and overall UK economy, especially while the UK is recovering from the impacts of COVID-19.
