More express and stopping train services will be reintroduced by train operator Southeastern from Sunday 16th May 2021, with more early morning services added.
A small number of changes were brought into effect from this week due to an increase in passenger demand, as well as earlier trains and additional stops for NHS workers are being reintroduced due to passenger feedback.
Frequent deep cleaning of trains and stations, as well as Southeastern's SeatFinder tool, means that the rail network is safe for passengers, and they should travel with confidence.
Scott Brightwell, Train Services Director for Southeastern, said: “As the country opens up further, we're looking forward to welcoming more passengers back to traveling with us. While we're currently seeing around 30% of passengers using our trains compared with before the pandemic, we've been monitoring levels of demand and increasing the number of carriages available for service on the busiest routes. We'll continue to do so where possible.”
“With indoor and outdoor entertainment and attractions re-opening, larger events re-starting, and domestic overnight stays allowed once again from May 17th, we'll do everything we can to ensure that the railway can support a great summer for everyone.”
Changes from April can be found on the Southeastern website; there are changes to Southeastern High-Speed services on weekdays, changes to services on the Chatham Main Line on both weekdays and Saturdays, as well as changes to services on the London Bridge Metro.

And with Southeastern to start introducing the Class 707s cascaded from South Western Railway to mainly be used on metro services and could replace the Class 376 trains that may be ideal for Southern to use and to replace the Class 455s on the South London suburban services and could also replace the Class 313 on the East and West Coastway services.
