From this week, unlimited free WiFi is now available throughout King's Cross railway station.

Part of a range of recent improvements, the upgrade to the WiFi is part of a series of schemes ready for the return of passengers to the network after the recent lockdown ended.

Back in December, the toilets around the station at London King's Cross were upgraded in a £2.3m upgrade to bring them up to date and make them more accessible.

Other improvements include a new drinking fountain to help reduce the use of plastic bottles along with new seating areas and digital screens to keep passengers updated.

Most of the railway stations in London now have free WiFi, including Paddington, Euston and Victoria. All major stations will have free WiFi by the end of 2021.

Laura Murphy, King's Cross Station Manager for Network Rail, said: “As restrictions ease and we welcome people back to the railway, we know that free, unlimited WiFi at King's Cross will improve the experience for passengers.”

“The online connectivity, as well as the other major improvements for passengers, means people can make the best use of their journey time before connecting to other towns and cities.”

  • Nice to see London Kings Cross have more upgrades including new WiFi, extra platforms and track to reduce congestion on the East Coast Main Line. As well a new underpass being built at Werrington Junction, Peterborough.
