CHECK BEFORE TRAVELLING: Pontypridd and Manchester rail upgrades this Easter

Passengers are being reminded by to check before travelling this Easter as engineering work takes place.

Buses will replace trains between and Radyr in South Wales as work continues on the South Wales Metro project, which will see faster services between Cardiff and The Valleys from 2023.

The work over Easter is the next step of the project, which has seen a January blockade and overnight work on the Core Valley Lines network.

Further North, Network Rail are completing engineering work between Chester and and means that Transport for Wales services will run to Chester, and then a rail replacement bus will run to .

Services on Easter Sunday will not run between Liverpool Lime Street and Chester via Runcorn, with rail replacement buses in operation.

Transport for Wales is urging passengers to follow government advice to help Keep Wales Safe.

  • The Class 150 in Transport for Wales livery reminds of Class 153 and Class 156 in Greater Anglia livery. As both Greater Anglia and TfW have identical colours on their rolling stocks.
