Realtime Trains has teamed up with Avanti West Coast to post exact train numbers as part of the Know Your Train feature.
From tomorrow, 11th March 2021, allocations will be made available on the website as well as extra details about trains, such as the location of toilets, wheelchair spaces, bike storages and the shop.
This means that you can search for your favourite train such as 390119 Progress.
Before becoming part of the Know Your Train service, users could only track the progress of Avanti West Coast trains, such as calling points.
Avanti West Coast is the latest train operator to sign up to the Know Your Train feature, which now includes London North Eastern Railway, GB Railfreight, Northern and Locomotive Services Ltd.
Paul Lawry, from the Partnerships and Strategy team at Avanti West Coast worked with Realtime Train on the new feature. He said: “The Realtime Trains website is a great way for our customers to plan ahead, with helpful advice to make their journey as stress free as possible.
“Whilst we only have two types of trains in our fleet, they are used in different formations. Any advance information we can give them prior to the train's arrival into the platform, will help reassure and ensure they are where they need to be.”
