Rufford Station, Lancashire, now benefits from a new waiting shelter for passengers thanks to Northern and their ‘Better Way to Go' programme.
The programme is improving services all across the Northern network, and includes the following upgrades:
- Tap In, Tap Out Smartcard system to provide Flexi ticketing
- Industry-leading mobility scooter policy
- Supplying bodycams for station staff
- Upgrading CCTV systems
- Overhauling car parks
- Lengthening platforms
Each of these improvements can better passenger experience and safety.
Regional Director at Northern Chris Jackson said: “We are working hard to make sure our stations are safe, accessible and welcoming places for passengers. Even small changes like installing a new shelter can make a big impact for our customers using the Northern network.”
