GB Railfreight announce new Liverpool intermodal freight train service

has announced that they recently started a new intermodal freight service to , which will see 20,000 lorry journeys off the roads.

The new service operates to the Port of Liverpool from the East Midlands, and operates in partnership with Mediterranean Shipping Company (UK) Ltd.

The new freight train service will run five times a week.

Despite the impact of Coronavirus, GB Railfreight has continued to make waves in the Intermodal market, and this is the 21st GBRf intermodal service to date.

Jonathan Burke, Operations Director at MSC UK said: “We are very pleased to announce that, together with our partners, we have launched the first daily intermodal rail connection between the Port of Liverpool and the East Midlands. This new service enhances our nationwide port and intermodal network, further strengthening the breadth of our offering to clients whilst helping to reduce carbon emissions.”
