East Midlands Railway is asking passengers to plan ahead and check before travelling over the Christmas period.
Although the operator is running a near-normal train service over Christmas, engineering work at London Kings Cross means services may mean train services are busier than usual.
As normal, East Midlands Railway will not be running services on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Passengers can find all the changes to services by visiting EMR's website by clicking here and passengers are being asked to avoid travelling at the busiest times of the day.
Neil Grabham, Customer Services Director at East Midlands Railway, said: “Our staff will be working hard over the Christmas period to make sure people can be together at what is a very important time for many families, especially in light of what a tough year it has been.
“To help the festive period go as smooth as possible we are urging our passengers to leave plenty of time to plan their journey and to follow all the safety advice that can be found online and in our stations.
“We look forward to playing our part in bringing people together this Christmas.”

Surely EMR doesn’t need lots of Class 170s. Plus they could inherit the Class 175 Coradia DMUs built by Alstom. And is to be replaced by the Class 197 Civity DMUs from CAF with Transport for Wales replacing older diesel multiple units and to be stored/scrapped or cascaded elsewhere. Which I would think that EMR might be interested in inheriting the Class 175s to operate them in the East Midlands including Nottingham, Lincoln, Derby, Skegness, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Sheffield, Rotherham, Newark, Grantham and Leicester.
East Midlands Railway are also inheriting the Class 170s from West Midlands Railway and some of the Class 171s from Southern. And maybe inherit the Class 170 from Transport for Wales.
