Two Christmas trips have been postponed due to the new COVID-19 Restrictions in Scotland.

More than 300 passengers should have been looking forward to a seven-course meal on the Northern Belle, which was due to run on the 4th and 5th December 2020.

However, the lockdown means that the two trains from Edinburgh and Glasgow have had to be called off and rearranged for the 21st December, with the possibility of a train running on the 22nd December 2020.

Passengers booked on the two trains who cant travel on the revised date will be offered a refund or a VIP voucher card with an extra £100 added on to book on a future train.

Tickets for the train cost £289, if you would like to book, please see www.northernbelle.co.uk for more information.

A spokesman said: “Obviously we regret the inconvenience. But this was out of our hands and in view of Covid-19 we all understand why the Scottish government has had to take this action.”

“However, we hope to be back on track on December 21 with a festive five-hour journey through the wintry Scottish countryside to get everybody in the Christmas spirit.”

“As well as champagne and a seven-course lunch with wine, we also have wandering musicians on board, and there will even be conjurer to add an extra touch of magic.”

“One lucky passenger could even find him or herself sitting in the same seat the Queen once used. For one of our luxury 1930s-style Pullman carriages once formed part of her Royal Train.”

  • At least it’s been arranged for the 21st and 22nd December. Which is 4 weeks away. As Christmas Day is also 4 weeks away.
