DISRUPTION: Todmorden to Manchester trains cancelled due to points failure

UPDATE: The line has now reopened, with short notice cancellations to be expected

A points failure at means that all lines are blocked between and .

Trains cannot currently run between Rochdale and Todmorden, with trains not calling at Walsden, Littleborough or Smithy Bridge.

Network Rail staff are on site, but there is no estimate currently for trains resuming.

Ticket acceptance is in place with TransPennine Express between Manchester and Leeds.

Please remember that trains are currently not running through Bradford Interchange due to the lineside fire that started yesterday – that disruption is expected to continue throughout the day.

The National Rail website says that disruption at Todmorden may continue until at least 10 am.

Once the line has reopened, says that trains may be disrupted by up to 30 minutes.

The operator has also said that trains between Preston and Bolton are being cancelled or delayed due to an electricity supply fault.
