Steam locomotive 60009 Union of South Africa to pass through Huddersfield this Tuesday

Steam locomotive 60009 Union of South Africa will be back on the mainline for the final time this Tuesday, albeit towed by a diesel locomotive.

60009 will be heading from the National Railway Museum to the East Lancashire Railway, where she will be based for a year.

Please bear in mind this is a light engine movement and can be changed and cancelled at any time.

Departing York NRM at 13:30, the diesel, 60009 Union of South Africa and her support coach will pass through York (13:45), Church Fenton (14:04), Castleford (14:37), Wakefield Kirkgate (14:50), Huddersfield (15:16), Marsden (14:37), Stalybridge (15:41), Castleton (16:38) and Castleton Hopwood Gf at 17:11, where it will be towed on to the East Lancashire Railway by resident D5054 (subject to change).
