Steam locomotive 60163 Tornado to visit Darlington this Sunday

Steam locomotive ‘A1’ No. 60163 ‘Tornado’ will be in Darlington this Sunday as it heads from Middlesborough to Shildon.

Tornado is hauling a Private Charter this Sunday.

Departing York NRM at 09:15, the ECS movement (which may be hauled by a diesel locomotive, or with Tornado running tender first) will then pass through York (09:25), Thirsk (10:08), Yarm (10:35) and Middlesborough at 11:03 and 11:34.

Once passengers have boarded the train at Middlesborough, Tornado will depart at 11:40 and will then pass through Thornaby (11:46), Eaglescliffe (11:58), Dinsdale (12:06), Darlington (12:14), North Road (12:32), Heighinton (14:15), Newton Aycliffe (14:18) and Shildon at 14:26.

Once passengers have disembarked, the ECS, which again may feature a diesel locomotive or tender-first running throughout or part of its journey, will depart Shildon at 14:55 and will then pass through Darlington (15:20), Yarm (16:18), Thirsk (16:41), York (17:12) and York NRM at 17:32.
