has confirmed that it has had its third period of high punctuality for key workers across Scotland, according to new figures.

The punctuality figures, showing performance for the 3rd May – 30th May 2020, show that 96.1% of ScotRail trains met the Public Performance Measure standard.

ScotRail has been operating a key worker timetable throughout the pandemic to allow doctors, nurses and other key workers to get to work.

Although some restrictions have been lifted, travel on ScotRail remains for essential journeys only.

Alex Hynes, Managing Director of Scotland's Railway, said: “Scotland's Railway has played a key role in helping our country through the COVID-19 outbreak. I'm so proud of the hard work and commitment of our people to deliver a reliable and punctual service, which has kept key workers moving as they carry out their life-saving work. We'll continue to do our very best to keep those making essential journeys safe in the weeks and months ahead, but we need our customers to play their part too by following our five rules for safer travel.”

  • ScotRail could of order 10 more additional 3-Car Class 385/0s that would make the final total of 80 Class 385s (56 Class 385/0 (previously 46 385/0) 3-Car and 24 Class 385/1 4-Car) from 70 Class 385s on the ScotRail network. Instead a extra 10 additional Class 385s will not happen at all.
