LIVE UPDATES: Train travel impacted as Storm Dennis batters Britain

Train operators are once again having to deal with the elements as Storm Dennis batters Britain today, Sunday 16th February 2020.

A large amount of the network is suffering from delays and cancellations due to the poor weather.

Some operators have issued DO NOT TRAVEL warnings, whilst some are advising passengers to delay travelling.

Here is the current state of the railways – this will be updated throughout the day (last updated: 11:45 on 16th February 2020):

  • DO NOT TRAVEL – delay until Monday 17th Feb
    • Flooding between Plymouth and Newton Abbot
    • Flooding between Exeter and Tiverton Parkway
    • Flooding between Cheltenham and Birmingham
    • Flooding between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst
    • Flooding between Lydney and Gloucester
    • Flooding between Derby and Nottingham
      • CrossCountry between Cardiff Central and Nottingham suspended
    • Flooding at Long Eaton
      • Trains between Derby and Nottingham suspended
    • Flooding between Darlington and York
      • Delays of up to 30 minutes
    • High winds near Guildford
      • Delays of up to 60 minutes due to speed restriction

  • It’s what Storm Ciara has caused massive disruptions last week. But we can’t help it when storms do come they always will bring destruction.
