Steam locomotive 60009 Union of South Africa is fixed and is heading through Hemel Hempstead TODAY

UPDATE: 60009 has broken down outside Wolverton and is not going any further. More information can be found here.

Ex-LNER ‘A4’ No. 60009 Union of South Africa is now fixed and is on the move again.

Last night, the locomotive failed whilst on a light engine movement from Bury to Southall in preparation for an upcoming tour tomorrow.

This is excellent news and a big WELL DONE to the support crew of 60009 is needed – they have done a grand job.

It has now officially left Rugby and is now on the move – sorry for the late announcement, it has only just been confirmed!
