c2c advise for passengers travelling over Christmas

are advising passengers travelling over Chrismtmas and New Year need to plan ahead as trains will be operating a revised timetable.

Due to engineering work to prepare for the TfL's new train line to Barking Riverside, there will be no c2c service on the Rainham line in either direction on Friday 27 December and Saturday 28 December. More information can be found here.

The train operator also expects Upminster station car park to be busier than usual during the two days closure.

Here are the planned train services over the festive period

Christmas Eve, 24 December

A normal weekday service will operate but there will be an earlier shutdown than usual.

The last trains will be:

  • 21:41 Fenchurch St – Shoeburyness (all stations via Ockendon)
  • 21:55 Fenchurch St – Grays (all stations via Rainham)
  • 22:04 Fenchurch St – Shoeburyness (all stations via )

Christmas Day and Boxing Day

No train services will operate.

Friday 27 December

  • Four trains per hour via Basildon, in both directions, will be provided for most of the day.
  • Two trains per hour will call at all stations and two trains per hour will be semi-fast.
  • During the AM & PM peak periods, additional trains will be provided.
  • Two trains per hour via Ockendon, in both directions, will be provided for most of the day.

Saturday 28 December

  • Services via Basildon will start/terminate at Fenchurch St and will call additionally at .
  • Passengers in possession of a valid rail ticket and travelling to/from Stratford may use the London Underground Jubilee Line.
  • London Liverpool Street Station is a short walk away from London Fenchurch Street Station. There will be revised times on services via Ockendon.

Sunday 29 December

  • Services via Basildon will start/terminate at Fenchurch St and will call additionally at West Ham and Limehouse.
  • Passengers in possession of a valid rail ticket and travelling to/from Stratford may use the London Underground Jubilee Line.
  • London Liverpool Street Station is a short walk away from London Fenchurch Street Station. Normal service via Ockendon and Rainham.
