More trains for Ed Sheeran concert from Greater Anglia

is reminding passengers to check before they travel and allow more time for their journey as it prepares to run extra services to help people travel to Ed Sheeran concerts later this week.

The train operator is running extra trains and additional carriages to help people travel to Ipswich for the concerts at Chantry Park in Ipswich over the Bank Holiday weekend.

From Friday 23 August to Monday 26 August, additional trains will run, and the last train times have been revised to tie-in with the end of the concert.

Research showed that of Ed Sheeran fans travelling by train to the concert were planning to use the mainline from stations north and south of Ipswich.

A shuttle bus will be run between the station and Chantry Park, costing £3 per person return.

James Steward, Greater Anglia's Area Customer Service Manager, said:

“We've increased the frequency and length of trains where possible and practical, however we are still expecting services to be very busy. We will do as much as we can to help people travel and there will also be extra staff on hand to provide help and information.

“We would encourage everyone to check before they travel and allow more time for their journeys.”
