After a gap of more than two years! We are bringing Throwback Thursdays back to the RailAdvent website.
This series takes some of our archive material and shares it out to our readers.
This week, we visit the Conwy Valley Railway Museum, which is based in Betws-y-coed, North Wales.
Here, you will find a gift shop, a miniature railway, a tram, a model railway, and a cafe inside a real railway carriage.
Tickets cost £2 each, or 10 rides for £15 on the miniature railway, which has both diesel and steam locomotives operating. The train ride lasts around 8 minutes and runs around the grounds. The museum is priced at £1.50 for adults and £1 for children.
This attraction, which is right next to the Betws-y-coed railway station, is perfect for dog owners, as dogs are allowed in the museum and on the trains.
Overall, we really enjoy our visits here, and we would recommend a trip if in the area this year!
In this video, filmed all the way back in July 2015, Douglas and Gwyndir Castle were in charge of trains, you will also see the superb food that is served at the cafe.

I had not realised how much the railway has expanded since I was there more than 20 years ago. Must catch up when the Conwy Valley line re-opens!
