are adding more seats for music fans heading to see the Proclaimers at in Melrose this weekend.

Concert-goers will be able to use services on the Borders Railway to travel to Tweedbank – the closest station to the Annay Road Rugby Pitch – on Saturday 15 June, with doors open from 3pm.

ScotRail will be adding carriages to services throughout the day. This is to help make sure that customers arrive at the event on time.

Despite this, they are still encouraging customers to allow for extra time for travel, as well as purchasing tickets in advance.

ScotRail are to have extra staff on hand to help customers and monitor passenger numbers along the route.

Customers should be aware that queuing systems may be in place before and after the concert.

Fans who are planning on travelling home by train in the evening are advised to head to Tweedbank as soon as possible after the gig ends.

What did the officials have to say?

ScotRail Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said:

“There's no need for Proclaimers fans to walk 500 miles, they can travel with us to see the band's gig this weekend.

“We'll be using every train at our disposal to add extra carriages to services between Edinburgh and Tweedbank, however, trains are expected to be busy.

“Our advice to anyone going to the concert is to make sure to check your train times on our website or app and leave plenty of time for travel. Buying tickets in advance will also help reduce your need to queue.”
