Greater Anglia has announced that hundreds of people took part in Mistley's annual charity event, The Witchfinder Trail fun run.
The organisers have now announced that thousands have been raised for a local charity.
The railway and community pulled together to raise vital funds for residential home for adults with learning disabilities, Acorn Villages.
The totals show that £3,800 was raised during the event.
The Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership sponsored the event by funding trophies and medals for all the participants.
Kate Williams, Acorn Villages' Commercial Development and Marketing Co-Ordinator, commenting:
‘It was a really wonderful day for all, we are so grateful to everyone who supported and sponsored it.
“Both young and old, as well as four-legged, enjoyed running or walking around the historic sights and meeting the townsfolk of the era, some in costume.
“The medals and trophies were incredible this year all thanks to Essex & South Suffolk Community Partnership, the t-shirts looked amazing thanks to Concord Property sponsoring and everyone loved the Edme Malt Loaf made specially for the event.
“The volunteers who helped on the day and before were outstanding and we cannot thank them enough for everything they did, and we'd like to thank everyone who took part for helping to raise vital funds for adults with learning disabilities at Acorn Village.'
