  • I am not impressed with Transpennine, travelling to York we waited 30 minutes at Newton Le Willows and on our return journey we luckily had the internet to find our trip from York to Oxford Road terminated at Victoria due to a shortage of drivers. We took the earlier train which was busy with many standing. Something I found annoying was the vast amount of reserved seats I estimate 80%.

  • If it’s to do with engineering works taking place then that’s ok. But still they are the worst train operator in the North of England. Except when they are to receive their new trains which is scheduled to enter service later this year and into next year. With the electrification on the Manchester-Preston Line that is to be completed by Spring 2019. And to allow new & existing EMU trains aswell diesel trains to operate aswell to serve Bolton aswell.
