The East Somerset Railway has released a short update on the overhaul of steam locomotive 5239 Goliath.
It has been a very busy week for the team of workers. All of the axle boxes have been blue'd and scraped for a fine check on the axle journals.
After this was completed, they were fitted with the underkeeps.
The last of the painting of the frames were completed, and the team was ready for 5239 Goliath to be rewheeled.
Tuesday 11th September came around and it was the tricky job of getting each axle and axle box into their horn guides, as the frames are lowered.
The frames are now back in the workshop, which allows the next phase of the overhaul to take place.
