Hull Trains have announced that passengers on the 08:23 service on the 1st August 2018 were greeted with cheers and proclamations from the reigning British town crier champion.
East Yorkshire Town Crier, Michael Wood, asked Hull Trains passengers why they would leave God's County on Yorkshire Day, as well as helping them to join in and celebrate the day.
The train operator provides more than £200m a year to the local economy, with most of its staff living in Hull and East Yorkshire.
Hull Trains uses local suppliers for food and beverages on board. Hull Trains has also linked up with the Great Newsome Brewery to provide locally brewed beer.
Passengers who left Yorkshire on the 08:23 Hull Trains service on August 1st were greeted with cheers and proclamations from the reigning British town crier champion.
What did the officials say?
Michael said:
“We mustn't worry that Hull Trains are taking folks away from Yorkshire, for in fact they're doing the country a favour. We're exporting one of our greatest assets, Yorkshire folk, who no doubt will be sharing their usual wit and wisdom with everyone they meet.
“Besides, Hull Trains are also bringing folks to Hull and what a treat that is for those visiting for the first time.”
