ScotRail has announced that it will be putting on extra carriages on to its trains and also more train services to help music fans get to and from the annual Glasgow Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park this week.

The additional services will operate for each of the three headline acts:

  • Kings of Leon on Wednesday 22 August 2018
  • Catfish & the Bottlemen on Saturday 25 August 2018
  • Kendrick Lamar Wednesday, 29 August

Extra train carriages will be added to services on the Paisley Canal route. This will be supplemented by additional services between Dumbreck and Glasgow Central.

Additional carriages will also be added to Wednesday's late night trains from Glasgow to Kilmarnock, East Kilbride, Gourock and Ayr.

To free up carriages, from 10pm onwards, trains on the Paisley Canal route will terminate at Dumbreck. Replacement buses will be in operation between Glasgow Central and Paisley Canal.

What did the officials say?

Alliance Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said:

“We're really looking forward to helping music fans travel to and from Bellahouston Park for this year's Glasgow Summer Sessions.

“Our services will be very busy so people should plan their journeys in advance, check train times regularly and make sure they have a ticket before travel.”
