ScotRail has announced that it has recorded 0.1% of train services missed a scheduled stop, the lowest rate of skip-stopping since records began.
Just 53 trains out of 58,000 scheduled trains missed stops in the four weeks up to the 26th May 2018. This is a reduction of 88% on the same period last year.
ScotRail has pledged to stop skip-stopping unless it is a last resort.
Across the ScotRail network, 91.5% of trains met the rail industry stand public performance measure – the services arrived within five minutes of their arrival time having stopped at all of their stations.
This means that ScotRail remains the best performing large rail operator in Britain.
What did the officials say?
ScotRail Alliance Managing Director Alex Hynes said:
“We pledged to suspend skip-stopping, except as a last resort, and that is exactly what has happened. Customers are feeling the benefit of this improvement, but we know that there is more to do to deliver the service they deserve.
“We are working hard to deliver on our performance improvement plan, as we build the best railway Scotland has ever had.”

I bet GTR and few other train operators make trains skip stations due to the timetable being launched back in May 20th. Which are suppose to stop at a station or stop at certain stations no matter if its operating as a Semi-Fast stopper service. Whilst most services that operates as a stopper do stop at all or most railway stations.
