Greater Anglia has announced that ramblers in Norfolk can enjoy a free guided ‘rail ale' walk this weekend.
The walk is as a result of Humpty Dumpty Brewery and Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnership teaming up to celebrate English Tourism Week.
The walk is timed to fit in with Greater Anglia train times and takes place this Saturday, the 24th March 2018. It will take place between Cantley and Reedham and their ale pubs.
Beginning at the Reedcutter Inn, which is a 3-minute walk from Cantley Railway Station, at 12:45 pm and is roughly 3 miles long – ending at Reedham Ferry Inn by the River Yare, this is just a 15-minute walk to Reedham station.
Walkers will learn more about the history of Cantley and Reedham and how the river and railway contributed to the industry and tourism.
To join the event, you will need to catch either of these trains:
- The 11:36 train to Cantley from Norwich, which will arrive at 11:52.
- The 11:48 train from Lowestoft to Cantley, arriving at 12:16
- The 11:17 from Great Yarmouth, changing at Brundall, arriving at 11:52
At the end of the walk, participants can catch the several hourly services from Reedham station.

Hopefully, this guided walk will introduce many people to a great day out along the Wherry Lines.”
