Greater Anglia has announced that more people than ever are using their electric car charging points at GA stations.
Car charging points can be found at Norwich, Broxbourne, Bishop's Stortford, Harlow Town, Ipswich, Cheshunt, Wickford, South Woodham Ferrers, Waltham Cross, Hertford East, Ely, Stansted Mountfitchet and Witham car parks.
Figures have shown that usage has seen an increase of 70% over the past two years.
Studies have shown that electric cars produce 40% fewer emissions than their petrol and diesel counterparts.

What did the officials say?
Jay Thompson, Greater Anglia's Head of Safety, Security and Sustainability, said:
“There is a range of ways for people to get to our stations, and we are pleased that more and more people are making use of the electric car charging points.
“Some stations are used more than others – Bishop's Stortford has the most-used electric charging points on the Greater Anglia network, and usage at Norwich and Cheshunt is high. However, usage at some stations – particularly Stansted Mountfitchet and Hertford East – is low, and I would like to remind passengers that we have these brilliant facilities which they are welcome to use.
“At Greater Anglia we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment, so we are very pleased that we can offer free electric car charging points at some of our stations.”
