Double award for train operating company Greater Anglia’s recruitment team

Train operating company, Greater Anglia, has announced that their recruitment team is celebrating after winning two national awards, beating blue-chip opponents.

Based in Stratford, the recruitment team won the gold award for Onboarding Programme of the Year at The Learning Awards 2018. They also won Best Candidate Experience at the RAD Awards.

Facing competition from Shell and Barclays, the RAD awards celebrate the best recruitment communications.

The team was praised for their creativity. They were also praised for their recruitment programme, which includes video, technology, and people interaction.

The Learning Awards celebrate workplace learning and development. The team was praised for the fact that the process began before the employee joins the business.

This was a new experience where everybody, from cleaners to company directors, goes through the same process together. The panel also saw that recruitment, hiring, and onboarding wee linked seamlessly.

What did the officials say?

Urmish Patel, Head of Resourcing at , said: “We are very pleased that our Resourcing team has been recognised for its excellent work. Over the past 12 months, they have worked to create a new scheme to welcome new recruits.

“Our onboarding programme is concerned with getting the right people into the right jobs and making sure our new recruits have everything they need to start work. We have more than 3,000 employees in the UK. The rail industry is a great place to work and offers many opportunities to progress.

“In 2017, more than 12,000 people applied to work at Greater Anglia so it's important that the recruitment process is as seamless as possible. I would like to congratulate the team for their continued hard work.”
