ScotRail has announced that following a recruitment drive, they will now offer food and drink to customers travelling on the main Inverness to Wick/Thurso service.
This is a huge boost to passengers travelling on the route.
Alex Hynes, who is ScotRail's managing director, has addressed the Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership (HITRANS) conference yesterday. He revealed that the number of trains running on time in northern Scotland has improved significantly.
Almost 68 percent of trains arrived on time over the past twelve months.
The number of passenger journeys between Inverness and Wick/Thurso also increased by 7 percent between 2016 and 2017.
