As part of London Midlands Community Rail project, there are sewing classes which are being held at Nuneaton Stations on a Monday.

Nuneaton’s is adopted by Art Alert and is enabling locals who enjoy sewing to work on different projects through the Escape Arts Sewing Group.

The workshops are being held every second Monday of the month in the Old Station Café on Platform 1 of Nuneaton Station from 10am until 1pm.

Pat, who attended the first workshop on Monday 11th September, said “It’s a lovely social occasion getting together with people to be creative; the sewing is therapeutic too and it gives everyone a great thrill to see their work on display and to know it is helping others.”

Projects by the Escape Arts Sewing Group will be exhibited to the public for free from 10th-13th November 2017 at Nuneaton station

Faye Lambert, head of community rail at London Midland, said: “Art Alert adopters are making Nuneaton station a destination in its own right. It is very rewarding for us that this otherwise unused space has been brought to life by the group, who through arranging workshops like this are helping people to learn new skills and work as a team.”

The next workshop will be held on Monday 9 October at 1000 hours and is open to all. For more information, please contact info@artalertnuneaton.com.
