On Sunday 10th July, we made our first visit to and you can see our video above. Crich is situated between Chesterfield and Derby, and is home to the The National Tramway Museum.

The trams operate along a mile long line, which starts at Town End terminus. Town End recreates a period village scene, complete with shops and a pub. There are 5 stops along the line. At Town End, you will, amongst other things find a Sweet Shop, Gift Shop, Tea Room and Pub.

As well as the trams in operation, there is an exhibition hall. On display in the hall are numerous trams throughout the years, from horse drawn, to steam and electric. The Stephenson Discovery Centre has a history of the museum, and has interactive exhibits. Here you can also see the workshops vie the viewing gallery and see the restoration work in progress.

After you have explored the village, trams and the exhibitions, there is also a sculpture trail, and woodland walk, which is well worth a wander around.

What does it cost?

There is no charge for parking, and the entry ticket allows unlimited rides on the trams which are in operation on the day you visit.

At the time of writing a family ticket costs £39 and entitles you to free return admission for 12 months (terms and conditions apply). So you will get a second chance to go back and see all the things you missed the first time around!

If you are taking your smartphone with you, then there is an App you can download. Available for both Android and iOS devices, the App includes an interactive map to help you make the most of your visit.

There is plenty to explore, and you can easily spend the entire day at Crich Tramway Village.
