Back in the summer of 2015, I visited the Corris Railway, this is situated between Machynlleth and Dolgellau, in West Wales.
This is a short railway from the village of Corris to Maespoeth Junction, where the carriages and the locomotives are stored.
The Day
The locomotive for todays trip was Kerr Stuart ‘Tattoo' Class Locomotive Number 7, this locomotive is similar to No.4 ‘Edward Thomas' on the Talyllyn Railway.
I travelled on the 11:10am train from Corris. Trains do not run everyday, so please check your timetable before you travel. For timetables, click here.
The railway was originally used to bring slate down from the quarries to the sea at Tywyn and Machynlleth, and when you arrive at Maespoeth, you can see the junction that was originally used to go on the branch line to the quarry above Corris.
At Maespoeth, you will find the Carriage and Locomotive Workshops.
In 2015, the Corris Railway finished building a new carriage, numbered 22.
At the time of my visit, the railway had made the shell of their next carriage.
The workshop also comprised of other trucks and vans being restored back to use. They was also the Boiler of their new Locomotive, and it is Fundraising for the completion. For more information on the Falcon Project, click here

Corris Craft Centre
After my trip to the Corris Railway, I made a quick visit to the Corris Craft Centre, which is just outside the village.
