The West Coast Main Line north of Carlisle is shut today (23rd May) due to flooding and TransPennine Express are asking people not to travel.
Services between Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Carlisle, Glasgow and Edinburgh are being affected.
Passengers with tickets today can defer their travel to tomorrow or claim a full refund.

Why are trains between Penrith & Carlisle affected if the flooding is north of Carlisle? And totally agree with previous comment – presumably people cab go from Carlisle to Newcastle and then into Scotland on ECML?
Hang on, was the ECML route into Scotland still open? If so then why weren’t passengers recommended to use that instead? This business of telling people not to travel is becoming too easy an option for some of these operators. It is simply unprofessional.
